Field Trip: DuPage Children’s Museum

dupage children's museum

Date: Friday, April 29, 2016

Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Location: DuPage Children’s Museum – 301 N. Washington Street, Naperville, IL 60540

As more libraries provide hands-on learning experiences and interactive spaces for children and families, we can learn from children’s museums and their knowledge of child development, exhibit design, and techniques for scaffolding learning in their spaces.

Join the Recharge Committee at the recently renovated DuPage Children’s Museum to learn about the theory behind the design of the museum’s play areas and exhibits, and how they facilitate learning. Participants will hear a presentation by the DuPage Children’s Museum’s Early Childhood Specialist, and then tour the museum during open hours to see the exhibits in action!

9:30 – 10:00 AM – Arrival and networking

10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – “Theory Behind the Design” presentation & tour of the museum

Space is limited, so sign up soon!

Cost: FREE, sponsored by TBS, H.W. Wilson, Gale Cengage Learning, and Recorded Books.
